American Online Middle School

Start learning any month of the year, from anywhere in the world.
JDJ International Open Schools offers a flexible American Middle School Program designed for students aged 11–14, with:

  • 24/7 access to all learning materials
  • Asynchronous learning and formative assessment
  • A self-paced model with structured deadlines

The standard school year lasts 10 months, with the option to extend by 2 additional months if needed.
Students can learn at a comfortable pace or progress faster based on their individual abilities and motivation.

Learning Platform & Communication

Students access all course materials — including e-textbooks, interactive quizzes, videos, audio content, educational games, and assignments — via a secure online platform, available on computers, tablets, or smartphones with a stable internet connection.

Qualified U.S. teachers offer individualised academic support through online communication channels, including email, chat, video/phone call and messaging.
For younger learners, parents or guardians may also be involved in the learning process and communication with the school.

Students have the opportunity to participate in age-appropriate interest groups, virtual school clubs, and student lounges, allowing them to stay socially connected in a safe online environment.

Accredited U.S. Curriculum

A Cognia-accredited American curriculum provider powers our Middle School program. Upon completing each grade level, students receive official records of their academic achievement, aligned with U.S. educational standards.

These records ensure smooth continuation into high school, whether in the U.S. system or at an international or bilingual school abroad.
For families considering future studies in the United States, this program lays a strong academic foundation and develops digital learning skills from an early stage.

Educational Mentor for Middle School Students (Optional Service)

At JDJ International Open Schools, families may choose to add the support of a dedicated Educational Mentor to guide their child through the online learning experience. This personalized service is especially helpful for younger students adjusting to independent study.

The mentor’s role includes:

  • Encouraging students to stay motivated and engaged in their studies

  • Monitoring academic progress and regularly updating parents or guardians

  • Communicating with teachers on behalf of the family to help resolve any challenges

  • Assisting in creating a balanced and age-appropriate learning schedule

  • Guiding elective course choices based on the student’s interests and strengths

  • Helping students develop healthy study habits and time-management skills

Student ID Card

JDJ students receive a JDJ Student ID card confirming their enrollment in our online program. While this card serves as internal proof of student status, we recommend that middle school students apply for the internationally recognized ISIC Scholar Card.
