Study-abroad programs
Not only on-line learning at JDJ International Open Schools… Our story commenced much earlier. Since 1990, JDJ Bachalski has been continuously supporting Polish students in obtaining the highest level of education in secondary education in English-speaking countries by organizing annual trips.
Who is the US exchange for?
The programs are intended for secondary school students aged 14–19 who wish to study abroad while living with a host family or in a boarding school residence, depending on the program selected.
When to apply?
The preferred time of contact is September-December, assuming that the student plans to travel in the following school year. A few months of advance allow you to complete the application conveniently and to collect all the necessary documents as well as to receive any required vaccinations.
How much does it cost?
Currently, the costs start at USD 30,000. Most of this amount is allocated to tuition fees at the chosen school and accommodation with a host family or in a boarding house. However, it should be noted that the total cost of the trip also include: insurance, application fee, flight tickets and pocket money for the student. The good news is that after departure, all formalities are completed and parents are not surprised by any additional fees.
What options are there?
A student can travel to virtually any corner of America – from the lakes of Manitoba, Canada, through the red fire hydrant-lined avenues of San Francisco or the beaches of Los Angeles, to the steel and glass skyscrapers of New York. Accommodation is available both with host families and in boarding houses, and the schools to choose from include both public and private institutions. Feel free to explore our full offer and choose schools that meet your individual needs.
What next?
After returning from a one-year trip, the student receives unconditional promotion to the American High School On-line within the JDJ International Open Schools programs – with a 10% discount! This allows the student to continue studies at an American school while paying less than when enrolled ‘overnight’. Thanks to having the grades transferred, the student does not have to repeat the material covered during the stay at the school in the USA – all previous grades are accepted.
